Motion / 04

An action.
A natural response.

Motion that helps people understand what just happened and what comes next.

01 / The approach

Less friction.
More understanding.

The best interface motion feels like part of the interaction. It preserves context, shows progress and makes a change of state clear, without making people wait for an animation to finish.

We design the behaviour and the implementation together. Prototypes test the feel; timing, interruption rules and reduced motion alternatives make it ready for a real product.

02 / What we make

Room to explore.

A focused piece or a wider system. We shape the scope around the idea.

01

Meaningful feedback

Hover, press, loading, success and error states that acknowledge an action and make the current state clear.

02

Connected transitions

Navigation, overlays and shared elements that preserve a sense of place as an interface changes.

03

Product storytelling

Animated walkthroughs and feature sequences that explain how a product works, with a visual language rooted in the real interface.

04

A motion system

Reusable timings, easing curves and interaction rules that give designers and engineers a consistent foundation.

How we work

A considered
sequence.

  1. 01

    Map the interaction

We review real flows, states and edge cases to identify where movement makes the task easier to understand.

  2. 02

    Prototype the behaviour

Interactive studies test the timing and continuity, including fast repeated input, interruptions and loading states.

  3. 03

    Design the rules

We define motion tokens and reduced motion alternatives, then document how each interaction should behave.

  4. 04

    Verify in the product

We work with your engineers, or implement within scope, to check performance and fidelity on target devices.

04 / The handover

Ready for
the real world.

Interaction prototypes

Focused working examples that demonstrate the important transitions and states.

Motion specifications

Timing, easing, sequencing and interruption rules for consistent implementation.

Accessible alternatives

Reduced motion behaviour and state feedback that remain clear without large movement.

Engineering handover

Agreed code, animation assets or documentation, with device and performance review where scoped.

A little clarity

Good
questions.

Do you implement the animations too?

We can. Implementation depends on your platform and codebase. We agree whether the deliverable is a prototype, an animation asset, production code or a combination before work starts.

Will animation make our product slower?

It should support the interaction, not delay it. We favour lightweight properties and assets, test on target devices and define how motion behaves when actions are interrupted.

How do you handle reduced motion?

We plan it alongside the main behaviour. Large or continuous movement can be replaced with simpler transitions, while feedback and state changes stay understandable.
