Start with your clips
Create a project in the library and select media using Photos or Files. If a file is in iCloud or another provider, download it first. Kleivo imports local copies and leaves your originals untouched. You can also open the sample project to follow a short first-edit guide.
Make the cut
Select a timeline clip to trim its ends, split at the playhead or change its position. The playhead sets the moment shown in the preview. Use Undo to revisit a change during the current editing session. Projects remain editable after reopening; the Undo history itself is session-based.
Shape the picture
Use Proportions to adjust width and height together or independently. Crop, position and rotate the picture, then check the result in the preview. Project aspect ratio changes the output canvas; it is separate from stretching or scaling a clip. Color tools, transitions, text and picture layers let you refine the edit.
Add your sound
Import an audio file you have permission to use from Files, or record a voiceover after granting microphone access. Adjust timing, volume and fades. Kleivo does not supply a streaming music catalogue. Check the mix before exporting, especially if music and speech overlap.
Give your words a place
Open Captions to write cues, import an SRT/WebVTT file, or create captions from speech. Automatic recognition requires a supported on-device language and Speech Recognition permission. If unavailable, use manual cues or import. Always review the words and timing.
Export the film
Choose the export settings supported by your project and device. Keep the app open until rendering completes, then preview the finished file. Share it or save to Photos with add-only permission. A Photos permission problem does not require rendering an already completed export again.
Keep an editable copy
Export Project creates a portable .kadrbundle package. The extension comes from the app’s original project format; it is a Kleivo editable project. Save it outside the app if you want a backup or a copy to transfer. An MP4 or MOV contains the finished film, not the editable timeline.
Manage space and recover work
Open Settings → Storage to review app-managed files. Projects in Recently Deleted continue to use storage until removed; restore them within 30 days if needed. Exports are stored separately. Before permanently deleting anything, check your own backup. Get help if something is missing.
